Jo Ann's journey started in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1941. Then came a 1955 trip to her new childhood home in southwest Denver. In 1960 her brother Gayle introduced her to his friend Ed, a fellow model airplane enthusiast.
The relationship took flight – Ed and Jo Ann exchanged vows just two months later. They went on to be happily married for over 55 years, growing closer each year.
They shared a great life with children Julie, Rick, and Steve, granddaughters Kristina, Heather, Haylie, Shelby, Sydney, and Karisa, and great granddaughter Ella.
Retirement took them to Georgetown, Texas in 2006, where they enjoyed nine years at their new home in Sun City with many new friends, before returning to Denver on December 2, 2015 upon learning of mom’s terminal illness.
She is dearly missed and will always be remembered for the kindness, nurturing, intelligence, wit, compassion, and love that she freely shared with so many.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on December 26, 2015, at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetary, 8600 E Hampden Ave in Denver. The service will be preceded by a visitation for all interested, starting at noon, and the service will be followed by a reception with a light meal.
Jo Ann loved flowers, so those who wish to honor her in that way should direct flowers to the address shown.
