John a tuff fair guy he woildnt let me cut his hair I was the boys and the girls and his wifes barber for years he knew how to make u smile he will be missed my blessing to his wonderful family

According to John I was 'his girl'. H e would play with me and always make me smile. In his older years, I was still 'his girl' but he would always ask who I belonged to. " Your my girl, I don't know who you belong to, but I love you anyway." He would say. After repeatedly having Pam and I  say my parents' names, he would still insist on asking me who my parents were. I used to get annoyed by his asking, but now not having him ask makes my heart ache. I miss my great grandpa. He was my highlight to Christmas or any other holiday. I will carry on his tradition of Phee-Phy-Pho-Phuming every year, I will still talk about him and when I have children, (not until I'm 30, Which is in 19 years) I will tell them stories about their great great grandpa, John Hardy.

I will always remember the Christmas skits that he did every year. Even though they were always the same I couldn't wait to see them. I know how proud he was when I was selected to umpire professional baseball. I will truly miss him but I am glad he is playing handball and softball again up above. God Bless Him.

Tom worked together at the Phone Co. they played pool together at the
Lakewood Elks Club every Wednesday.  My
husband and I enjoyed many dinner/
dances at the Elks with John and Lee,
We also visited them in Long Beach at
the boat, three times a year, until
they moved back here.  If you 
remember, I was "the lady in the pink
dress" at Dennis' wedding.

John Hardy was a man who couldn't have enough grand adventures in life.  He lived his life with the ultimate can do spirit.  From his fishing trips, sports- golf (had a hole in one), bowling (regular 300 winner), he was the pitcher on his softball team, hall of fame for handball, he lived life to win.  He and his wife traveled on their motorcycle across the country. They retired to a sailboat in California. They were lucky in life because they made their own luck.  I will miss John's winning spirit. He was my father-in-law and my pal. We had many adventures together and I thank him for accepting me into his family.

I played handball  with John on the old Denver YMCA courts for many years. He was fair, friendly, and a great player. I am deeply saddened by  his passing. I will pray for him.
