Lucrecia Carpio Holmes, 75, of Denver, Colorado, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born on September 10, 1945 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, and joins her mother, Eufemia L. Queddeng, of Aurora, Colorado, in the Kingdom of Heaven.
She was educated at Paco Catholic School, University of the East, and Far Eastern University. In 1980, Lucrecia immigrated to the United States and relocated to Colorado. She served in accounting roles at Colorado National Bank and the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Lucrecia also co-owned Mi Corazon LLC with her best friend, Cora, at the Denver Merchandise Mart. She was strong in her Catholic faith, loved to travel, and spend time with family. Her sharp humor and generous heart were evident to all whom she encountered.
She is survived by her son, RJ (Marvin) Holmes-Leopold of Eagan, Minnesota; niece Maria Knapp of Aurora, Colorado; cousin Corazon Smrekar and her sons Ryan and Adam of Denver, Colorado; and multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren in California, Florida, and the Philippines.
Services will be limited to a small group of family and close friends due to public health guidelines. Visitation with rosary service will be on Wednesday evening, February 24, 2021. Memorial and committal services will be on Thursday morning, February 25, 2021. All events will be held at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
The memorial service on February 25th will be streamed live on the Olinger Hampden Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/OlingerHampdenCemetery) beginning at approximately 10 a.m. Mountain time.
