Lydia Iris Martinez

Iris was born on June 6, 1958, in Trinidad, CO to John A. Martinez and Lily M. Martinez. She grew up in Trinidad, CO and went on to become a registered nurse in Pueblo, CO, following her passion to help others.

Throughout her life, Iris was known for her beauty, strength, kindness and humor. Iris found joy in spending time with her son Charlie, cheering for the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets. She especially loved her dogs Rocket Man and Roby.

Iris is survived by her siblings Larry Ling, Gloria Olson, and Elizabeth Gibson along with numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many other loved ones who will forever cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by John A. Martinez, Lily M. Martinez, Eileen F. Linker, Juanita Linker, Rachel Linker, Bobby I. Ling, Aaron I. Marinez, Anita R. Kahn, and her beloved son Charlie A. Anselmo.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on May 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Holiday Inn, 3130 Santa Fe Trail, Trinidad, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pueblo Animal Services in Iris’ honor.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mitchell at Parkview Hospital and the amazing care team at Porter Adventist Hospital; Dr. Kulig, Dr. Macht, Meg, Bree, Corine, Alexis and Diane for their support during this time.

Iris was an amazing daughter, sister, auntie, and the most caring and loving mother to her son. We love you and miss you always! Forever in our hearts until we meet again.
