At peace and out of pain! He is wearing his favorite running suit and he took all of his favorite things he cared about including all of his cremated animals he had from the past.  I will miss him forever. We had such a good time being together trying  to make up 40 plus years.

First day I met my dad and surprised him at his home. I began taking care of him from that day forward.

I cannot believe it has been 4 years since my dad has passed.  A day does not go by that I do not think of him.  I miss him so very much!  Even though I was only able to have a couple of wonderful years with him thanks to his wife Juanita who would not let him see his children, it was such a joy to be able to spend the time we had enjoying each other and catching up all the 40 years lost.  He loved to go out to the different restaurants and eat and so we did practically every night. We tried to do something fun every weekend as it seemed he did not get out very much.  I had so much fun buying him a totally new wardrobe of clothes, having his hair professionally styled, and  new glasses .  He was really enjoying life until one day he fell and broke his vertebrae. I could not care for him 100% so I did put him in an assistant living place for a few months to recuperate and heal.  I was with him every day and evening until he caught c-diff.  That pretty much made him go downhill fast, however I brought him home to be with me till the end. I believe he had a very good enjoyable two years and enjoyed the time we had together.
