Shirley Mae Oliver was born December 24, 1929 to Roy and Jeannette Oliver. She had four siblings Roy, Margaret, Millie, and George, to whom she was very close. Being a native here in Colorado she attended Bromwell grade school where in kindergarten she met her two lifelong friends, Darlene and Mary Louise. She also attended Grove middle school and East High School. Once out of high school she started her career at General Electric as a bookkeeper and met another lifelong friend Carol Linvingston. Even though these three lifelong friends meant so much to her, none would ever mean as much as her BEST FRIEND and loving husband of 62 years Bob Henke. Once she met Bob they knew right away that they would be in love forever. On August 11, 1950 Shirley and Bob married and had an unfailing love for each other that would overcome any obstacle. Shirley and Bob had four children: Denny, Bruce, Ann, and Cathy. They also had three grandchildren: Chris, Brandon, and Elizabeth along with, one great grandchild Lucas. Family was the most important part of Shirley’s life. She would do anything for her family no matter what was needed. Some of Shirley’s passions consisted of Elvis Presley, her dogs, camping, traveling, and of course their cabin. Throughout Shirley’s lifetime she has travelled to all fifty states, spent countless hours with her family at their cabin, and has probably listened to every Elvis song recorded. Shirley was even president of an Elvis club. One thing that Shirley loved to do was bring her family to listen and watch Elvis performers. No matter what time you visited her one thing that would always be playing in the back ground was Elvis Presley. There is not one question about Elvis Presley that Shirley would not be able to answer. But her most cherished past time was doing anything with Bob, it did not matter if they were just sitting in the house or going out to dinner, Shirley loved to be with Bob. Even though there will never be another friend, wife, mother, grandmother, or great grandmother like Shirley we know that she has been reunited with her best friend Bob in heaven and will never be separated again. Thank you for always being there to comfort us all. We love you Mom and Nana and will always miss you.
