Bernard J. "Bernie" Ray Jr. of Des Plaines for 40+ years Visitation for Bernard J. "Bernie" Ray Jr., 76, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the family cemetery. Born Dec. 11, 1933, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Park Ridge. Mr. Ray was a benefit counselor for AT&T, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the Army. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Mary (nee Geffe); dear father of Cheryl (Jim) Vaccarello and Patricia (Steven) Turner; loving grandfather of Katey and Bobby Vaccarello, and Stacey and Joe Turner; fond brother of Leonard Ray and Jim (Nancy) Ray; and cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
