Beth Elyn Didier

Beth Elyn Didier, 59, of Des Plaines, IL, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 22, 1966, in Waukegan, IL, Beth lived a life marked by deep love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.

Beth was the beloved wife of Thomas Didier and the cherished mother of Mark Didier (Nicole), Scott Didier, Donald Purfeerst (Kathleen), Adam Purfeerst (JoAnn), and Courteney Didier. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Tony, Savannah, Austin, Chris, Alyssia, Caleb, Trace, Nova, Eli, and Simone — all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer J. Olson and Gail Olson, and her siblings Elmer J. Olson, Jr. and Allen Olson (Cheryl). Beth is lovingly survived by her siblings Tina John (Bob), Annette Brooks (Curt), Sandra Olson, and Pamala Jones (Bob), and by countless extended family members and friends who became family through the years.

Beth graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1984 and went on to attend Suomi College in Michigan. She spent most of her professional life working as a Merchandising Lead for various companies, always bringing dedication and heart to her work.

Beth was a vibrant presence in her community and in her children's lives. She was a class mom, a Den Mother in the Boy Scouts, and a proud team manager for football, baseball, and wrestling. Her commitment to her children’s lives extended far beyond the home, and her energy and spirit left a lasting mark on everyone she met.

Known for her fun-loving personality, Beth had a true zest for life. She loved to host family gatherings, travel to new places, and collect all sorts of knick-knacks — especially Legos, Smurfs, and gnomes. She had a caring, goofy nature and loved being surrounded by laughter, music, and the company of those she loved most.
