Carl Chu

Carl was a loving father to Annelise Hoffmann Chu; preceded in death by his father, Kyong M. Chu, who died in 2022; he was the gentle, loving son to Wan Woo Chu; a wonderful brother to Yong Rak (Jong Choi) Chu and Yong Sun Chu; a dear uncle to Sung Ho Chu and Grace Chu.

Carl was a Taekwondo Master and devoted his time to teaching Taekwondo. His students and their families were touched by his teaching style.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Carl that will be held on Wednesday, June 21st, from 4 - 8 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016.

Carl’s departure from this world leaves a void that can never be filled. However, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His genuine kindness will continue to inspire us all. He may not have lived a perfect life, but he said he lived a good one. One that we will forever cherish, and we will continue to remember.

Carl, you were the gem of our family. The memory of you can never fade. We know we’ll meet again someday. Rest in everlasting peace, brother.
