Celmira Bolanos

With deep love and gratitude, today we remember the life of Celmira Bolaños, who was born on December 3, 1932 in the city of Florencia, Caquetá, Colombia, and departed with the presence of the Lord on December 24, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois.

Celmira was an exemplary woman, pillar of her family and an inexhaustible source of love, humility and wisdom. She did not give up on any work to get her family ahead. Her school days were few and even so, she knew how to guide her children wisely. Her life was marked by dedication to God, her generosity, sincere compassion and a deep faith that left its mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, she sowed values that will live forever in the generations that follow her.

She is survived by her children: María Elena Ortega, Luis Armando Bolaños, Jorge Alberto Bolaños, Rubén Darío Bolaños and Celmira Bolaños Ayala, along with their respective husbands and wives. She leaves a legacy in her grandchildren: Diana Elena, Fabio Alberto, Lissa Andrea, Leonardo, Luis Andrés, Josué, Nicolás, Alberto, Darío and Alejandro. Her tenderness continues in her great-grandchildren: Xavier, Alexis, Sebastián, Leilany, Nayeli, Aidan, Emilia, Luca, Mateo, Liana, Lorenzo, John Paulin and Sienna. And with immense joy, her story continues in her great-great-granddaughter Eris Michelle, and in another great-great-grandson who is on the way.

Children and other relatives express their deepest gratitude to all the people who accompany us in person or in thought. Thank you for your presence, for every tear shared, for your prayers, for the comfort and strength provided at this significant time. May God bless you abundantly. Celmira Bolaños will live forever in our hearts.

A visitation will be held on December 30, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 North Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL, at 1:00 pm.

Con profundo amor y gratitud, hoy recordamos la vida de Celmira Bolaños, quien nació el 3 de diciembre de 1932 en la ciudad de Florencia, Caquetá, Colombia, y partió con la presencia del Señor el 24 de diciembre de 2025 en Chicago, Illinois.

Celmira fue una mujer ejemplar, pilar de su familia y fuente inagotable de amor, Humildad y sabiduría. No se rindió ante ninguna labor por sacar a su familia adelante. Sus días escolares fueron pocos y aun así, supo guiar sabiamente a sus hijos. Su vida estuvo marcada por la entrega a Dios, su generosidad, la compasión sincera y una fe profunda que dejó huella en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. Hija, Hermana, Madre, Abuela, Bisabuela y Tatarabuela, sembró valores que vivirán por siempre en las generaciones que la siguen.

Le sobreviven sus hijos: María Elena Ortega, Luis Armando Bolaños, Jorge Alberto Bolaños, Rubén Darío Bolaños y Celmira Bolaños Ayala, junto a sus respectivos esposos y esposas. Deja un legado en sus nietos: Diana Elena, Fabio Alberto, Lissa Andrea, Leonardo, Luis Andrés, Josué, Nicolás, Alberto, Darío y Alejandro. Su ternura continúa en sus bisnietos: Xavier, Alexis, Sebastián, Leilany, Nayeli, Aidan, Emilia, Luca, Mateo, Liana, Lorenzo, John Paulin y Sienna. Y con inmensa alegría, su historia se prolonga en su tataranieta Eris Michelle, y en otro tataranieto que viene en camino.

Los hijos y demás familiares expresan su más profundo agradecimiento a todas las personas que nos acompañan en persona o en pensamiento. Gracias por su presencia, por cada lágrima compartida, por sus oraciones, por el consuelo y la fortaleza brindados en este momento tan significativo. Que Dios los bendiga abundantemente. Celmira Bolaños vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el 30 de diciembre de 2025, de 9:00 a. m. hasta la hora del funeral, a las 11:00 a. m., en la funeraria Oehler, ubicada en 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. El entierro será en el cementerio Rose Hill, 5800 North Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL, a la 1:00 p.m.
