Dorothy Smith of Des Plaines The funeral Mass for Dorothy Smith (nee Sonneker), 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Zachary Church, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines. Burial will be in Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines Chapel, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Born Oct. 7, 1921, in Chicago, she died Friday, June 18, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Smith; mother of Kenneth (Dolores) Smith, Richard (Andrea) Smith and Carol (Robert) Rieger; grandmother of Sharon (Mark) Knudsen, Kenneth (Natalie) Smith, Mikel (Cherie) Smith, Richard Smith Jr., Brittiney Smith, Katie Rieger, Bobby Rieger and Kristy Rieger; great-grandmother of Kenny, Nicole, Teresa, Danielle, David, Mikel and Samantha; sister of Evelyn (the late Joe) Butler; and Jean (Bernard) Ughetti. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38125 appreciated. .
