Douglas W Manis

He is survived by his cherished wife of 31 years, Kimberly (Clauss) Manis and his children Kristyn and Douglas N. Manis. Adored son of Charlotte (Rightor) Manis and the late Floyd (Doug) Manis. Favorite older, smaller brother of Bryan Manis. Enchanting son-in-law of Margaret (Heimert) Clauss and the late Charles Clauss. Dear cousin & fun-loving uncle of many nieces and nephews and favorite “Papa” of Teddy, Waffle, Sassy, Cannoli, Beethoven, and Reeses. Supporter and bonus dad to countless friends over the years and will be missed profoundly.

He was a valued Employee of the Chicago Carpenters Welfare & Pension Funds for more than 30 years and retired in 2020. Doug enjoyed fishing, bowling, cooking, and craftsmanship – especially in his retirement years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of life will be held at Oehler Funeral Home located at 2900 Miner St in Des Plaines, Il 60016 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
