Elvin H “Slim” Johns age 92 of Des Plaines formerly of Kansas. He was the beloved husband of the late Ramona (nee Fluegel); loving father of Eugene (Patricia) and the late Wayne (Judy) Johns; cherished grandfather of Kyle Johns and Alysun (fiancé Peter Hudepohl) ; dear brother of Waverly (Dorothy) and the late Max (Toni)
Slim served in the US Navy during WWII and then was a 40 year member of the Carpenters Union. He was a hard worker and had a passion for woodworking where he specialized in making Grandfather Clocks and Cedar Chests. Arrangements were handled by Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines, IL
