

Louis A. Bevacqua died peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2025, at the age of 101. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, and his parents. He is survived by his children: Judy (Robert) Zutkis, Joyce Bevacqua, and Joan (Steven) Jacobsen; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his sister, Grace.
Born in Chicago, Louis, a veteran of World War II, joined the Army Air Force at the age of 18, where he developed his passion for flying small aircraft. He married his wife, Josephine, in 1948 and settled in Des Plaines for the rest of his life. As an automotive engineer with Motorola for 40 years, he is the holder of numerous patents including the push button transmission.
Lou was known by friends, family, and neighbors for his generosity and willingness to help. He was a problem-solver, a designer, and a doer. He loved working with his hands. His priority was always his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and may he rest in peace.
