

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raisa Kramskaya, who passed away on the morning of April 4, 2025, at the age of 89. Raisa was born on November 13, 1935, in Kiev, Ukraine and lived a life full of love and devotion to her family.
Raisa was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Aleksander Kramskoy, with whom she shared a lifetime of love. She also leaves behind her beloved children, son, Michael Kramskoy, and daughter, Anna Kabakov, who were the light of her life. Raisa is also survived by her sister, Maya Kabakov.
Raisa was an essential presence in the lives of her granddaughters: Marina Kramskaya, Irina Papp (and great granddaughter Elizabeth), Britany Kabakov, and Sabrina Kabakov. Her grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy for her, and they will forever carry the lessons of kindness and strength that she imparted upon them.
Raisa completed her studies in English in University in Ukraine and used her language skills to help guide her family when they came to the United States. Once settled in America, Raisa enjoyed reading romance novels and watching American soap operas in her free time. Her passion was baking and sharing her creations with her family.
A visitation for Raisa will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m at the Swan Lake Chapel at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 North Milwaukee Avenue, Des Plaines. Funeral service with entombment to immediately follow.
