Ralph A. Niedert Sr.

Ralph A. Niedert Sr. formerly of Des Plaines The funeral service for Ralph A. Niedert Sr., 92, of Parkland, Fla. for eight years, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 855 Lee St., Des Plaines, where he will lie instate from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Richard Mau will officiate. Interment will be in Ridgewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines. Born July 5, 1918, in Des Plaines, he died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, in Florida. Mr. Niedert was the owner of Niedert Freight Company in Des Plaines for 50 years. He was also a World War II Navy veteran. He was the husband of the late Miriam Elaine Niedert; father of Gerald (Terri) Niedert, Marla (James) DeWaine, Lanna (Robert) Andre and the late Ralph A. Niedert Jr.; grandfather of Jessica Osborne, Cori (Julian) Waterlot, John Pisani, Jennifer (Justine) Howe, Alexis Andre, Don (Kim) Wagner and Wolfgang (Julie) Niedert; and great-grandfather of Gracie and Emma Wagner, and Thomas and Aubrey Howe.
