A born and raised Chicagoan, Rosetta was the eldest of three children. In 1951, she married James Archibald, and together they raised their family in Des Plaines and Arlington Heights, Illinois. After dedicating her time to raising her family, Rosetta pursued a degree in interior design and spent many years working in this creative field. Her other interests included watercolor painting, tai chi, cooking, and volunteering for various organizations. She was a member of the Saint Raymond’s women’s club and a long-term volunteer at the Ministry of Hope. Among all her interests, her greatest passion was her family, particularly her role as a mother to her daughters and a Gigi to her grandchildren.
Born on April 11, 1930, to the late William Behrens and the late Eleanore Behrens (nee Gollard), Rosetta was the beloved wife of 63 years of the late James L. Archibald. Cherished mother of Diane (Richard) Walling, Susan (William) Augustine, Kerry (Guy) Henning, and Joan (Leo) Potetti; adored Gigi of Kathryn and Christopher Beach, Grant (Lindsey) Henning, Elaina (James) Howard, Julia Henning, and Anna and Faith Potetti; and dear sister of the late Gloria (the late Larry) Martinelli and the late William (the late Diane) Behrens. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosetta's honor can be made to:
Ministry of Hope in care of Cross and Crown Church, 1122 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. A charity very near and dear to her heart.
