I love you and always have grandpa. There hasn't been a day that has passed that I haven't missed you dearly. You were the best grandfather a girl could ask for. You lived me unconditionally, even during my darkest days. You were a true light in this world, and grandma loves you more than you will ever know. 
I told her that you asked for her when you were in the hospital, and that you said to tell her you loved her. 
Please keep watching over us as the angel you are.

I wanted to share some stories on my experiences with Jim Fox.  

Most recently, I spent time with Jim at some political gatherings.  Jim was a staunch conservative as you probably know.  In 2014 I ran for GOP precinct delegate and was pleasantly surprised when I attended my first Washtenaw County GOP meeting and Jim was there.  (I think he was even more surprised to see me!).  Jim introduced me to several of the key people and was able to help me get an alternate seat at the State Convention.  I drove him to and from the convention in August 2014 so we had some time to talk about politics, KMS, Canopus, and the space business.  He wore his Korean War Vets hat plus his AIAA Associate Fellow pin  both very important to him.  (He left his hat behind at the county meeting and was very happy that I returned it to him, but I wondered if it was just trying to get me to agree to drive him the 40 miles to the state convention!).

On one of our Canopus business trips to NASA (Lewis at the time, now Glenn Research Center), we were running late for our return flight.  We arrived at the departure gate and the boarding door was closed.  Jim went into action  Do not let that plane leave!  Open the door so we can get on board!  The gate agent tried to object but Jim would not back down.  She opened the door and Jim and I walked down the jetway to a surprised cabin of people but we made our flight!

Last week I was down at KSC and went to the Visitor's Center to see Atlantis on display.  All of the experiences of the OARE fit check, the reconfiguring of the cover, the installation, the initial data problems, the reinstallation, and the success of the OARE mission came flooding back.  I owe all of that to Jim  he trusted this young engineer with key responsibility that allowed me to grow personally and professionally.  He taught me key principles of system engineering, project management, financial management, and customer relations.

In all of my experiences with Jim, he was tenacious, persistent, and firm, but always with a sense of humor, a chuckle and a smile.  He will be missed but his impact will be remembered!
