There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't think of Ken and miss him.  I'm probably a more diligent friend now than when he was with us.   Rest in peace Ken.

Mim and I have only just heard this terrible news here in Australia today (5 July 2014).  To all of Ken's family and friends we want to tell you what a great friend Ken was to us when he and Elin lived in Australia in the late 1990s.  To mark the new millennium we had an awesome adventure driving across the Nullarbor desert and swimming with dolphins at remote beaches.  He was always the life of the party, and always looking to make something happen.  Rest in peace Ken.

At the service I commented to Soren that I felt his dad's presence with Soren and the outfit he was wearing ... so Ken-like! I have very fond memories of Ken and Tracy so very happy and complete in each other during their reception and especially at the brunch the next morning. Ken was definitely in his element cooking, serving and talking. He and Tracy were exceptional hosts to us.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.  I had the pleasure of working with Ken at gedas, and remember him warmly.  His helpfulness and humor will be missed.  

While you must be overwhelmed, having Ken torn from you so suddenly, I can only hope that you have many happy memories to see you through this difficult period.  Anyone can tell from the pictures you posted that Ken loved his family deeply.  Perhaps that will provide something to hang on to while you grieve.

My most heartfelt sympathies to Les, Dana, Allen, Tracy, Ebba, Soren and everyone whose life was touched by Ken.

I first met Ken in 1999 when he moved to Melbourne and we worked many long hours together during our time at Arthur Andersen. Ken came to us as this amazing American ray of sunshine that quite frankly was shocking and awesome for so many of us. He left such a lasting impression on Melbourne... 

Ken brought me over to gedas/VW in Auburn Hills from 2002-2004 and this enabled me to live in the same city as my now wife, Elizabeth. Elizabeth and I had been dating long distance (between Australia and the US) for over 2.5 years so to be able to finally live together was a dream come true - one only made possible by Ken. He pulled all the strings and with his usual charm convinced the management in MI to take on a guy from Australia when they easily could have gone with someone else.

Over the 2 years I was in MI, Ken and I grew very close. Not only did we work together but we spent a lot of time outside of work together - lunches, drinks after work at the now defunct Big Buck Brewery off I-75. We also went camping up in mid-MI in Summer, Winter and in-between with fond memories of skiing, canoeing and just being boys!

Ken was not only a friend to me but a mentor. He was so bright.... so much more mature than me and he always pushed me to think bigger and reflect on myself. A true friend. A generous host. I was happy to have been there to celebrate the end of his MBA, his change of jobs and he was there for my wedding reception in DC and more. He even managed to sell our car on our behalf after we left the US!

In 2007 we went back to the US to visit Elizabeth's family with my son, Ethan, who is now 6. Although off the path, I specifically went to MI to visit Ken. I could not return to the US with my son without seeing Ken - that is how much he meant to me. 

Ken - I don't want to write here because it seems like good-bye and I don't want it to be. I believe I will see you again even if you didn't. 

Good stuff - that's what you were.

I worked with Ken whilst he was at Terex. He was always a pleasure to be with and will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
