Polly Suzanne Hodge Olson, 47, of Dexter, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Born on February 28, 1978, Polly lived her life with a vibrance and passion that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Polly was a sparkling, force of a presence — vivacious, charismatic, loyal, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. Whether you knew her as a gifted vocalist, a compassionate labor and delivery nurse, or the ever-loving mother of her beloved children, Joey and Julia, Polly’s essence was impossible to miss. Her big personality and dazzling charisma lit up every room and every stage she stepped onto.
To know Polly was to know someone truly unique. Her compassion and non-judgemental beliefs made her a safe haven for those navigating life’s complexities. She had an innate understanding of the human spirit — its flaws, its humor, and its boundless capacity for love. She lived from the heart, uninterested in the superficial expectations of modern success. Polly embraced life with honesty and joy, and made space for others to do the same.
Even during difficult times, Polly carried herself with quiet strength and resilience. She rarely let on if she was struggling, instead choosing to lift others up and keep moving forward. Her zest for life shone through in countless ways, from her beautiful singing voice to her cherished Christmas traditions — she could hardly wait to put the lights up each year.
Polly is deeply mourned and forever loved by her children, Joey and Julia Olson; her parents, Paulette and Jack Hodge; her brothers Jason Hodge (Tracey) of St. Charles, MO, and their children Natalie and Joseph, and Joe Hodge (Laura) of Levering, MI, and their daughter Gia. She is also remembered fondly by her ex-husband John Olson, her cousins and her Uncle Thomas Hodge and her Aunt Mary Jean Harter and her dear companion David Jones.
