

He made batteries for the Vietnam War at Sonotone/Marathon Battery in Cold Spring, NY, where he would meet Corinne. On December 18, 1964, he married Corinne K. Rose who predeceased him. Al was owner/operator of Landscaping by a Rose. He held several positions at D.B. Kenney Fisheries Ltd. in Westport.
Albert served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His duties were aboard the U.S.S. Boston and was a plank holder of the U.S.S Long Beach. He was a member of North Highlands Fire Department, Cold Spring, NY and the Westport Fire Department, Nova Scotia. He was a member of the Tri-County Nurserymen’s Association.
Al was a welder and performed various services for local residents. He was an avid gardener and shared an abundance of fruits and vegetables with family, friends, and neighbors. Al was well known for his copper humpback whale sculptures with over 200 sold worldwide.
Survivors include his sister Lois Rose of Malbrans, France, his children, Paul (Lily) Lockwood of Sebastian, FL, and Kimberly (John) Simons of Sebastian, FL, 5 grandchildren Tanya (James) Jawor, Jennifer McIntyre, Paul (Julia) Lindert, Jason Matias, Ryan Matias and 6 great grandchildren Madison Chirico, Roger Chirico, Joseph Lindert, Logan Matias, James Jawor and Arabelle Lindert. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy (Rose) Pacenka.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. As per family’s request there will be no services at this time.
