Aldean Alliston Cromwell Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aldean Alliston Cromwell Jr., affectionately known as "Al Boogie," who left us on August 25, 2024, at the age of 35. A resident of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Aldean was the loving son of Barbara Cromwell and the late Aldean Simms Sr.

From a young age, Aldean exhibited a remarkable artistic talent, often seen creating beautiful works of art alongside his daughter, Addison. His creativity extended beyond the canvas to his culinary skills, earning him the endearing nickname "Chef Curry" among friends and family. Aldean's infectious humor and bright smile had a special way of lifting the spirits of everyone around him. His unique fashion sense, characterized by his beloved top hats and impeccable style, was a testament to his vibrant personality.

Aldean's curiosity about science and space was evident in his choice of a middle name for his daughter Ainsley, “Celeste”. His love for music, entertainment, and his daughters was beyond this earth. He found joy in a variety of activities, including making music, fishing, traveling, gaming, and indulging his sweet tooth. Above all, Aldean cherished the time spent with his daughters and lived life with a spirit of enthusiasm and joy.

Aldean's warmth and generosity touched many lives, and he will be remembered with great fondness by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will miss that infectious smile and laughter.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Addison Lena Rose and Ainsley Maylene Celeste Cromwell; his siblings, Marc, Jasmine (Jazzy), Jenna, Sasha, Frannie (Froski), and Cain. He was predeceased by his father, Aldean Alliston Simms Sr.; his grandmothers, Guida Simms and Doris Stephenson; his grandfathers; and his Uncle Karlis Simms.

May Aldean rest in peace, forever cherished in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.

Visitations will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral services will be held at the Acaciaville Baptist Church at 2:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2024. Pastor Theresa Character officiating with assisting Pastor Roy Bertaux. Burial at Maplewood Cemetery.

The service will be livestreamed on social media http://linktr.ee/aldeanalliston. Celebration of Life after the funeral service will be held at the Digby Firehall. Timing to be announced.
