Archibald "Archie" Hood

Hood, Archibald ‘Archie” - Age 82 of Cornwallis Park passed away at home March 18, 2016. Born in Dumbarton Scotland, he was a son of the late Archibald and Mary Watson (Gemmell) Hood. Archie Attended School at the Dumbarton Academy and University of Lomond, Glassgow; he then served with the R.A.F. in Far East (Singapore) from 1952-1954. In 1956 Archie immigrated to Canada where he was employed with Petroleum Industry in Western Canada, retiring in 1988. In 1997 Archie and Shirley moved to Nova Scotia where he was an avid Golfer and a member of Digby Pines. Archie was an enthusiastic volunteer helping with, Meals on Wheels, Heart and Lung Association, Royal Canadian Legion and he also served several terms on Board of Directors Cornwallis Condominium Association. Archie is survived by wife, Shirley B. Hood; sons, Graham (Rosa) Hood; James (Kathy) Hood; granddaughter, Shawna Lynne Hood; great-granddaughter, Sedara MacDonald. Besides his parents, Archie was predeceased by a son, John Scott. As per Archie’s Wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s funeral Home, Digby with burial at a later date in Scotland. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Lung Association.
