

STEVENSON, Caroline “Carrie” Cylena, Age 96. (April 28, 1920 – March 9, 2017) God took Carrie home, peacefully on March 9, 2017 in Tideview Terrace, Conway Digby Co. Born in Granville Ferry, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Maude E. Stevenson. She moved to Montreal, Quebec, where she attended the SWISS Alliance Business College. She was a member of the Union United Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher; she worked with Brownies, Girl Guides and C.G.I.T girls. She was a member of the Christian Women Organization and other community services. She was an employee of Simpson-Sears, retiring after 20 years of service. She returned to Nova Scotia and settled in Conway, Digby Co. She was adherent to the Acaciaville United Baptist Church, past choir member; served as church treasurer; member of the Ladies Auxiliary; served as secretary/treasurer and served in other activities. She was a Dominion Life member of the Digby Baptist Missionary Society and served as Vice President. She served on the Social Assistance Appeal Board, was a member of the Tideview Terrace Ladies Auxiliary, Red Cross volunteer; member of the Digby New Horizon Seniors Club and served on the board of Directors and Vice-President. She received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Nova Scotia Sport and Recreation Commission in recognition of outstanding volunteer service benefiting the community of Digby. She is predeceased by sister, Doris (Wallace) Bailey. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews as well as a number of great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation 12pm to time of funeral service at 1pm on Saturday March 18th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby, NS. Rev.
