Cyril Norman Doucette

Doucette, Cyril Norman age 93, of Tideview Terrace , Conway, Digby Co. and formerly of Plympton, passed away November 24, 2014 in Digby General Hospital. Born in Plympton, Digby Co. he was a son of the late Henry and Laura (Melanson) Doucette. At the age of 15, Cyril was employed with Mersey Paper Company and then worked in lumber camps for 35 years cutting pulp wood. Cyril was also employed for 15 years with the Dept. of Highways before retiring. His hobbies included small engine repair, reading, hunting, fishing and photography. He still continued to work in the woods even after retirement. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, brothers, Henry, John, Eldon, Howard; sisters, Vinie, Lillian and Agnes. Visitation will be from 7-9pm Monday, December 1, from Jayne’s Funeral Home 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525) and from where funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday December 2nd, 2014. Father Henry Smolenaars will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Cemetery, Plympton. Donations in memory can be made to the Holy Cross Roman Cathoilc Cemetery, Plympton.
