TAYLOR, Deker Tyler Benjamin, age 31, of Digby, passed away suddenly and gained his wings with his mother (Brenda), on February 20, 2021. Deker was well known as the friendly giant, as he liked to watch over all the children who knew and loved him. He was very well known for his love of wrestling and cars; you wouldn’t see him without an action figure or hot wheels car in his hands. He loved asking people to “DO A BURNOUT”. Deker was loved by everyone who knew him, but the special bond between him and his mother was like no other, and now they have ventured in to their next life together. Deker is survived by his father, Pat; brother, Jason (Jennifer); sister, Nicole; nieces, Jessica (Brad), Isabell; nephew, Justin (Shana); great-niece, Quincy; grandparents, Clifford and Gertrude Vidito and many aunts and uncles who loved him so very much. As Deker would say, “Always say I love you before you leave.” So to the many family and friends he and his mom leave behind “I love you, have a nice day!” Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. A visitation will be held from 1-3 on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby, a graveside service and interment in Fairview cemetery to follow with Rev, Mark Cress officiating. Donations in Deker’s memory may be made to Autism Nova Scotia by visiting www.autismnovascotia.ca/give Please share a memory of leave a condolence at www.jaynesfuneralhome.com

Sending sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Brenda and Deker. You have been in my thoughts and prayers over the past while.
I met Deker when he came for his Grade Primary orientation over 25 years ago. I was also his Grade 3 teacher so l had the double blessing of mentoring him and seeing him grow over his elementary school years. His beaming smile and friendly manner will stick in many of our minds forever!
Your loss is shared by many who care and sympathize more than words can say!

As if we needed more tragedy here in Nova Scotia, and Digby in particular, we have now another good soul to mourn but also to celebrate.
Deker was a beautiful soul a neighbour and a free spirit like his Mom, it is a tragedy that we see him off to Heaven so soon but I am pretty sure that he will be OK as he travels the same road with his Mom...Rest In Peace Now young soul your journey has just begun...to the Grand Parents and family...God takes special care of the souls that leave before their time to be at his side may he also ease your pain and suffering
Sincerest Condolences
Karl n Carol/Lalonde/Higgins and Family

I had the pleasure to teach Deker in the DRHS Learning Centre. He was always easy going and welcomed each day with a smile and positive attitude. Brenda was always friendly and greeted everyone with a smile and conversation. They will be missed.

I learned so much from Deker during my years working with him at DRHS. His smile and pleasant greetings helped make every day a great day. I have a special pillow given to me by Deker that has embroidered on it, "Friends are stars that shine forever." Deker is now a very bright star. His smile and, "Have a nice day," will continue to shine forever.

My memories go way back to when Deker was a toddler. So sweet, a great little guy. I see from such wonderful comments, what a great young man he grew to be.
My condolences to Jason, Nicole and Pat.
