Born in Weaver Settlement, he was the son of the late Hector and Alice (Tooker) Barr. He was married to the love of his life, Lorraine (Farnsworth) for sixty-four years. He was predeceased by his parents, little brother Richard, and older brother Glen.
He leaves behind his wife Lorraine; two beautiful daughters, Kimberly (Brian) and Cynthia (Kevin); seven grandchildren, Katherine, Erin, Robin, Morgan, Donovan, Grayson (Jen) and Brittany (Scott); as well as eight great grandchildren, Eli, Callum, Amelia, Owen, Caleb, Cora, Quinn and Isla.
Donnie, as everyone knew him, worked in the woods for years and still loved to go with his power saw to cut firewood. He had his next year’s wood all cut and ready to go in the basement. He loved to hunt with many friends who have gone to glory now. He had bladder cancer thirteen years ago and has now finished with that too. He loved bluegrass music and the music is what kept him happy when things got tough.
The family wants to thank everyone for their kindness, especially the fire department and everyone at the Yarmouth Hospital and Emergency Health Services. What wonderful, caring people, nurses and doctors. Thank you so much!
