Dora B Height

Born in Morganville, she was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Pearl (Berry) Harris.

Dora started work as a live in housekeeper at Balser’s Mill in Bear River her early teens. She also did berry picking, worked several years at the Pines Resort and then Casey’s fish plant. In her later years she enjoyed bowling, bingo, senior’s games, crossword puzzles but especially loved and took pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Merwin) Haight of Lansdowne; sons, Allen Jr. (Sandra) Height of Gullivers Cove, Irving (Terry) Height of Digby; sisters, Brenda (Noah) Haliday of Digby, Pat Goucher of Waldeck, Eleanor (Eugene) VanTassel of Lansdowne, Debbie (Wesley) Tidd of Digby, Holly (Darrell) Comeau of St. Alphonse; brothers, Richard (Heather)of New Brunswick, Ronnie (Leslie) of Bear River, Steven (Lynn) of Bear River; grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle) Hankinson , Mitchell (Eden) Graham, Michelle Graham, Samantha Height, Trevor Comeau and 5 great-grandchildren, Ava, Ben, Liam, Lilah, Ivy, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Mary; husband, Allan; infant daughter, Sherry Lynn; brothers, George and Dale; sisters, Florence Morine and Margerie Keast.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on October 27, 2021, funeral service at 2pm on October 28, 2021 both from Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby, Celebrant Diane Axent officiating, with burial in Rossway Baptist Cemetery. Following Public Health regulations proof of full vaccination or letter of exception for anyone 12 or older is required to attend the visitation and service, masks are required.

The family would like to thank all the staff for the awesome loving care mom received during her stay in Dominion House at TVT. She loved and appreciated you for all you did in giving her some quality of life in the time she stayed with you. We are very grateful, Thank you!
