Fredric Earle Cosman

Cosman, Fredric Earle (Fred), passed away at the age of 84, at Villa d'la Baie, Meteghan, NS, Saturday August 10, 2024. Born in Digby on February 14th, 1940, he was the son of the late Willis and Zelia (Cook) Cosman. He lived most of his life, and worked, in the Weymouth area, later moving to South Range and then to Digby. Dad was employed at Weymouth Industries, Belliveau Upholstery, Weymouth Springs Bottling Company, and later retired from Jones Bottling in Weymouth North.

Dad was talented, with many skills including building houses, cabinets and furniture. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening and he and Mom enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycling and camping with family and friends. Dad was a talented guitar player and built one of his own guitars.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris (Sabean) Cosman, Digby. Children, Juanita (Gregory) Hicks, Jordan Falls, Keith (Ginger Comeau), Waweig, NB, Krista (Vic) Penner, Gilbert's Cove and Mark (Lindsay), Fort Point Rd and their daughter Rachael (Trevor) DiPietro, St Catharines, Ont.

Grandchildren, Logan Lombard, Pubnico, and his children, Ilona (Jeremy) Porter, Ania, Kattie and Adeline. Joel (Kimberly) Lombard, Sable River, and their children Quinn, Benjamin and Eli. Beau (Claudia) Gaudet, Thorold, Ont, and their children, Benny and Lincoln. Charity (Chris) Wells, Fort McMurray, Alberta, and their children, Sienna, Charlotte and Sullivan.

Step-grandchildren, Gillian and Andrew Hicks, Kaitlyn Halliday, Racheal and John Gravely, Rebecca Rees and Andrew Penner.

2 great-great grandchildren and 6 step - great grandchildren and 2 more on the way.

Predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Avis Manzer- Perkins and Treva Manzer. Brothers, Laurence, Russell, Keith and Robert (Bob), sisters-in-law, June and Phyllis Cosman, son-in-law, Benny Gaudet, niece, Winnifred Prime and nephews, Bradford, Michael and Kevin Cosman.

Thank you to the Villa d'la Baie, all the staff and Drs for their wonderful care and compassion shown to him during his stay there.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne’s Funeral Home. No visitation by request. Graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Weymouth North, on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 12:00pm, with a reception to follow at St. Bernard Firehall from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
