Gerald Edgar Lent

Lent, Gerald E. “Jerry” – 81 of Fort Point Rd., Weymouth North passed away October 9, 2010 at home. Born in Conway, Digby Co. he was the adopted son of the late Frederick and Ethel (Anderson) Lent. Gerald served with the Royal Canadian Regiment in Korea and later served in the Armed Forces Air Division for 20 years. Gerald played many different musical instruments and formed bands during his service in the Canadian Armed Forces where he was awarded a certificate for his musical talents. Gerald enjoyed his computer and his jokes will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Gerald took pleasure in feeding the birds and other small critters. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Anna Margaret (Weaver) Lent; children, Sandra (Ian), Sudbury, Ont.; Tommy (Diane), Sturgeon Falls, Ont.; Rebecca (Kevin), Toronto, Ont.; Loretta (George), Sudbury, Ont.; Tina, Sudbury, Ont.; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Gerald was predeceased by three children in infancy and one grandchild. No visitation.Memorial service will be held 2pm. Thursday, October 21,2010 at Royal Canadian Legion, Weymouth Branch# 67.
