I just found out about Kristy’s passing in June and I am truly saddened. Kristy was a kind, caring person and true advocate and she loved her son dearly. I knew her wonderful parents who use to live on Aalders Ave and went to school at Horton with her as well. My sincere and deepest condolences to her  entire family... RIP Kristy…

We , Mark and Lynn (McMahon) Campbell,  have just found out about Kristy’s passing. She was known as Kristy in our high school days and she was a force to be reckoned with even then. Passionate, funny, and always kind. The community has lost a true advocate . Sending condolences to John, and the Herron and Schneider families, and to her son.
 

To my dear friend Kristy, who showed courage in school, recognized my thoughts, sparkled with humor, helped me through some hard times years later.
I send my dear love to John, the brother who watched out for her, to her dear children, and I remember her parents who welcomed me into their home when I was a quiet, often lonely, young girl entering high school.
  I was hard hit when I heard the other day, and for days now have been flooded of memories of my dear friend.
May God bless, God keep, and thank you for sharing your mom, and John, your sister.

My deepest sympathy to Kristi’s family; her candle was dimmed far too soon.  I first met Kristi as a little girl when I married her uncle and over the years, even though we lived in separate provinces, our paths crossed.  Her mum and my husband were siblings; we often connected when we returned to the maritimes and   had a great conversation in mid June this year.  My heart goes out to each of you.

What do you say in a moment like this?  I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know Kris.  She was one of my biggest supports during a very dark time in my life and always made sure I had whatever I needed; whether it was a drive somewhere or something as simple as a hug and a kind word.

Forever grateful for having known this beautiful soul.

Please accept my deepest condolences on Kristy's death; I have only just now found out that she passed.  I got to know Kristy originally through my work at the CBC, but our conversations soon grew far outside the scope of a professional relationship.  I knew her as a woman of great faith and charity, of kindness and unrelenting hope.  I was thrilled that she found happiness and friendship in Cliff and I am so sad that your time together was cut so short. 

I first met Kristy Herron (then Bishop) when I first came to Digby Neck in the late 1998.  She was MLA Gordon Balser's assistant and was always in his office in Digby.  Consequently she was in support of the proposed White(s) Point Quarry near Little River.  I was opposed to the development, like a lot of people were and in the end it didn't go through.  She testified at the CEAA hearings in June 2007.  

Gordie was MLA until 2003, so I came across Kristy in her office and around the area in those years.  She was very committed to what she believed in, often in support of local people and creating jobs.  

I attended, and was appreciative of, several All Candidates Meetings that Kristy hosted as part of her work with Digby Board of Trade.  

I have a lot of respect for Kristy and her commitment to what she believed in even though we were often on opposite sides in those years.  I am so sorry that she died in that way.

Chris, here it is near the end of July and I am just learning about Kerstie's tragic death. What a shocking thing to learn. My heart goes out to you and her family. As you know we were brought together  through my dog, Jake. A strange turn of events really but  it turned into a mutual admiring friendship. Kerstie was always so generous in her cards and messages to me. I was so pleased when she mentioned she had decided to write a book about Jake. That reveals the depth of the kindness she had in her heart.  Please accept my most sincere condolences over the loss of your dear devoted partner.
