Born in Digby, he was the third child born to Meredith (Jones) and the late Capt. George “Johnny” Denton. He graduated from Truro Teachers College in 1976 and began his teaching career at Barton Elementary School, then Digby Elementary School where he retired.
He was a private person who enjoyed quiet time at home, sunshine, gardening and summers at the cottage in St. Andrews. Those who knew him saw the loving, thoughtful, humourous, kind, organized and truly amazing man that he was and those that knew him best, knew there was only one way to do things (and that was his way). He was heartbroken when he lost his first partner of 33 years, Stephen Brooks; it was fate that he then found his best friend and life partner for the last five years, Ron Trell.
Linden, also know as Floyd by his family will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by partner, Ron Trell; mother, Meredith Denton; Siblings, Roger (Carolyn) Denton; Roxanne Thibodeau (Paul Theriault); nieces and nephews, Craig (Diane) Thibodeau, Leonard Thibodeau, Michelle (Gordie) Farnsworth; Nathaniel (Amanda) Denton, Tamara Denton (Dagan Sorensen); Joel (Emily) Denton; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jared, Kaleigh, Emma, Leia, Brett, Hailey, Sienna, Amia, Ella, Josephine and Elijah.
As per his wishes, no public visitation. Cremation will take place with a private burial at a later date in Woodside Cemetery, Westport.
