Minnie Lewis Clayton - Age 101 of Halifax formerly of Digby, passed away February 16, 2018 in QEII, Abby Lane Building, Halifax. Minnie was a former employee at Digby Town Hall and Canadian Tire. She was a member of Digby Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 18 years; also sang in the church choir for over 40 years and was a Clerk for a number of years. She was a member of W.M.S. being president for 3 years; a Dominion Society Life Member and volunteered for Digby Red Cross and at the Digby General Hospital canteen. In her later years she knitted many baby bonnets for the I.W.K. Childrens Hospital. Minnie is survived by her daughter, Merilyn Fredericks, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Rod (Darlene) Fredericks, Dartmouth; Pamela Fredericks (Steeve) Harvey, Quebec; great-grandchildren, Emilie and Mathieu Harvey, Quebec; nephews, John (Lana) Churchill, Brian (Sue) Churchill. Minnie was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Rena (Marshall) Churchill; her husband, Shirley Clayton; son in-law, Lockie Fredericks; sisters, Harriett, Adeline, Marguerite; brothers, Jack, Malcolm, Ernest and nephew, Keith Churchill. As her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family committal service will be held with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Digby.
