Born in Plympton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of James and Gertrude (Melanson) Doucette. Mother to James (Donna) Thibodeau, Donna (Ian) Leadley. Grandmother to Trevor Thibodeau, Jennifer (Bryon) Mazurek, John (Alana Takeuchi) Leadley, Nicole (Marc d’Entremont) Leadley, Allison (Brian Bosma) Leadley. Great-grandmother to Katie Thibodeau, Ethan and Nolan Mazurek, Charlize d’Entremont.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Carl, siblings Kathleen, Leonard, Wilfred, Alvin, Reginald, and Aubrey, daughter-in-law Donna Fanning-Thibodeau, grandson Kevin Thibodeau, and great-granddaughter Clara Mazurek. Muriel was a loyal friend to many. She had a heart full of kindness, generosity, and unlimited love for her family. She was an exceptional quilter and crafter who took great joy in sharing her talents.
Visitation will be 7-9 pm on Tuesday June 26th, 2018 from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby. Funeral Mass at 1pm, Wednesday June 27th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Digby with Father Vincent Onyekelu presiding. Interment in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Plympton.
