Sadly we inform you that PAB (David A. Frost) - Age 79 of Bear River passed away at home peacefully on February 7, 2019.

Born in Bear River, he was a son of the late Emdon and Louise "Dolly" (Rice) Frost. Over the years Pab was in the Reserves at CFB Cornwallis and he worked in various places around the Maritimes. He owned his own logging truck for a period of time and worked for DND on Cornwallis Base. He also enjoyed going on long haul 18 wheeler trips as a spare driver with his buddy Malcolm; sometimes would go on his own from time to time and bring his family. He was owner and operator of Pab's Shuttle until his retirement.

He was an active part of the community being a life member of both, Bear River Fire Department and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #22, Bear River. Pab enjoyed being Sports Chairman for Darts and Pool at the legion where he loved to play, organize and run the tournaments and maybe have a beer or two...

He enjoyed camping, family vacations, socializing, telling stories and he LOVED to tease. Pab loved to drive, whether it was a taking road trip somewhere or just his daily trip downtown Bear River to socialize; he especially enjoyed being able drive his daughter to school every day. He loved life and enjoyed the love of his family and friends. Pab was thankful to remain at home being cared for by his loving wife.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his two boys, Buddy and Bean. Pab he is survived by his wife, Trudy (Gillam) Frost; daughters, Shelly Brown (Keith), Tammy Frost-Carty (Ian), Abby Frost; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Julie, Jody; great-granddaughter, Kyleigh; sisters, Nancy Shipley, Anne Brown; brother, Les Frost; brother in laws, Jack Ruggles, Peter Gillam (Kelly); also many nieces and nephews.

A big thank you to the Hematology Department at QEII in Halifax with a special thank you to Sue Robinson, Sue Van Oosten and Karla Burgess for the amazing support over the years. Thank you Dr. Harding, Teresa Dawson and the VON nurses who came to the house.

I will always remember our childhood and all the pranks and teasing I had to endure from my brother David, and the times later after we were adults and we laughed at all these memories. Always a new story to laugh about. He always had a smile and joke for every one. He will certainly be missed in town where he would sit in his truck and be official greeter to anyone who dropped by to talk. He went through a lot in his lifetime and I never heard him complain. We enjoyed his visits to Florida, and will never forget the incident in the pool. Thank you to Trudy for the wonderful care she gave him and especially at the end when he needed it most. Love to Trudy, Abby, Tammy and Shelly and their families.

I dont remember a time when Pab wasnt around and 99% of those memories make me smile. Obe memory that always makes me laugh was when I was a kid and we had a cabin. Pab and Shirley was there playing cards with Mom & Dad. Pab was entertaining us kids. I don't remember what it was called, but there was a tray that required each player to ante up with pennies. Pab would look at us and wink, then stick his hand in each tray and rattle the coins, pretending to ante up, never putting in any pennies. The more we laughed, the more he did it until he finally got caught and then he laughed at how he had fooled them all evening.
That's what I remember... how he was always acting foolish, going out of his way to make you laugh, his unbreakable spirit shining through even towards the end. He will be missed, but never forgotten thats for sure and that's the measure of a good life and positive time on earth.
