Rita Isabel Weaver

Age 80, of Bear River, passed away April 7, 2018. Born in Rhodena, Cape Breton Island, Rita was a person who always had time for everyone and her devotion and love for her family was immeasurable. She is survived and dearly missed by her children, Susan (Gary Owen) of Bear River, Scott of Springfield, Gwen Francis of Grand Prairie, Alb. and Blair (Judy) of Grand Prairie, Alb.; brother, James Wills of Pugwash; sisters, Ann Boyle (Richard) of Afton and Carol Wills of St. Andrews; grandchildren, Melissa Weaver and Raylene Francis; step-grandchildren, Cam-ly, Linh, Le, Darcy, Brandon, Josh; many nieces and nephews; her Cape Breton family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh A. Wills and Christena MacDougall; husband, Joseph H. Weaver; daughter, Linda Weaver; grandson, Kylie O’Brien.

Rita’s generous, caring and loving spirit was known to all who had the privilege of coming across her path and with her beautiful smile she was unforgettable. Her sudden death instantly brought together a community of friends, neighbours and health professionals needed to guide the family through the unthinkable. They wish to express their gratitude and appreciation to the outpouring of love and support shown to them.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby. Celebrant, Diane Axent, will officiate a Celebration of Life Service hosted in Jayne’s Funeral Home, Saturday April 14th at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to a reception following the service.
