Leo Ernest Hernandez Jr., a lifelong resident of Dinuba, CA, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on November 1st 2025.
Born and raised in Dinuba, Leo was a proud graduate of Dinuba High School, where he was actively involved in sports. He was known throughout town by the affectionate nickname "Bugs," a name given to him in childhood by his mother, Delphina Hernandez.
After graduating, Leo bravely answered the call to service, enlisting in the United States Air Force and serving as a Vietnam Veteran. Upon returning to his hometown after his military service, he began a long and dedicated career at Pacific Bell, from which he ultimately retired.
Leo had a deep love for his hobbies, finding joy and peace in fishing and listening to country music. He was also a devoted dog lover, cherishing the companionship of his canine friends throughout his life.
Leo is survived by his loving children, Scott Hernandez and Carrie Cortinas, and his two sisters, Vickie Hernandez and Debbie Boos. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Leo Hernandez Sr. and Delphina Hernandez.
