Prospero Barrientos Jimenez, age 76, of Dinuba, California, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was born in Lyford, Texas, to Maria Bonifacia (Barrientos) Jimenez and Prospero Andres Jimenez.
Prospero was a true handyman and a jack of all trades. He was known for always lending a hand to anyone in need, offering help without hesitation and expecting nothing in return. His skills were vast, but it was his generous heart that made the greatest impact.
A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Prospero leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and quiet strength. He is survived by his sons, Jaime Jimenez and Johnny Jimenez. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren and great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alicia (Carranza) Jimenez; his son, Esteban Jimenez; his father, Prospero Andres Jimenez; and his mother, Maria Bonifacia (Barrientos) Jimenez.
Family and friends are invited to honor Prospero’s life on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 356 N Villa Ave, Dinuba, CA 93618. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by a rosary at 1:00 PM and a funeral mass at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Road 100, Dinuba, CA 93618.
Prospero will be lovingly remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the many lives he touched through his kindness and craftsmanship. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
