

A long term resident of Huntington, New York, June was born in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, NY to the late Belle Sincoff and Max Orzeck. She attended Girls High. Before coming to Huntington and marrying Stuart Klein in 1955, she worked for the Sears Catalogue in New York City. She was predeceased by Stuart 15 years ago.
Forever the volunteer, during the war as a teenager she volunteered in Veterans Administration Hospitals. During her retirement years living in Kings Park she visited the ill and elderly by volunteering at the Gurwin Home in Commack, LI.
June was a lifetime member of Hadassah since 1976, having been a member for many years. She led committees and went on to becoming the Huntington chapter Vice President and President.
As secular and higher education were not available to June as a young person, she received her Associates degree in her 70's from Suffolk Community College and had her Bat Mitzvah at the Huntington Jewish Center in the presence of her husband as well. She was retired from the Suffolk County Probation Department, Hauppauge, NY.
June Iris Klein is survived by a sister, Ruth Birn, of Milford, NH, son Mark B. Klein and his partner Ozeias Amaral of New York City and Miami Beach, son Thomas S. and daughter in law Kathy Klein of Milford, CT, two grandsons, Chase S. and Pierce M. Klein and many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and cousins, including Nancy Birn Struckman, Nashua, NH, the Honorable Richard Klein of Asharoken, NY and Robert Klein of Boca Raton, FL.
Funeral services were held at I.J. Morris, Deer Park on Sunday, September 30, 2012
The family requested that all donations be made to Hadassah.
