

William Schulman of Fort Salonga, NY, passed away on January 3, 2017 at the age of 99. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean Wolf Schulman. He will be missed by daughters Susan Schulman (grandchildren Joe Beatty and Sarah Beatty) and Linda Schulman, daughter and son-in-law Lenore and Alan Treiman (grandchildren Daniel Treiman and Nicole Treiman), nephew Ira Baker, and many other relatives and friends.
William Schulman was born on August 4th, 1917 in Harlem, New York. He was a proud Army World War II Veteran, receiving the Award of the Bronze Star for his courage and leadership as a commanding officer, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was promoted to Captain in the Army. He graduated from New York University where he received his CPA, and was a principal in Wolf & Schulman accounting firm for 55 years. At age 75 he founded Calverton Links Golf Course with his late wife which he ran until he was 96. He was well-known for his work ethic, was very active in the community, and was extremely philanthropic, supporting numerous health and local charities.
Bill Schulman was passionate about his family and his love and dedication to them. He always encouraged them to pursue their education and their goals, loved spending time with them, and was a proud Dad, Papa and Uncle.
Private family services were held at Calverton National Cemetery. Instead of flowers, please make a donation in Bill's memory to your favorite worthy cause
