Doreen Van Duine

Doreen Theresa Van Duine, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 13, 2025. Doreen loved gardening, playing cards, and traveling to Texas and Florida with Milton. She was a wonderful baker, and her cinnamon rolls were second to none! Doreen loved cooking and baking, especially for the holidays, and keeping her house packed with her family and grandkids – she loved each moment spent with them. She will be so deeply missed and loved.

Doreen will be remembered by her children Lynnette (Scott) Gallegos, Juane (Janice) Van Duine, Michele (Patrick) Schrager, Alann (Bobbie) Van Duine; grandchildren David (Maraissa) Van Duine, Rachael (Travis) Marston, Ashley (Zach) Muskin, Haley (Drew) Lozano, Trenton (Erika) Van Duine, Ryleigh (Alec) Krueger; great-grandchildren Jacob, Julie, Alivia, Sophia, Zoey; special friends, who were just like aunt and uncle, Shirley and Norm DeVries; and many extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sara and the staff at Byron Manor for their care and compassion for Mom.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., Dorr, MI 49323. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church (Historic Church), 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Doreen will be laid to rest at Dorr Cemetery in Dorr Township, MI. In memory of Doreen and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dorr American Legion Post #127, 4310 18th St., Dorr, MI 49323.
