Lynn was born in Plainwell, Michigan August 27, 1948. He worked for Heckman Furniture making cabinets for over 20 years and retired in 1990. Lynn was married to his love, Peggy Harrington, for 40 years. Lynn enjoyed tinkering around with different projects in his and his son’s shop. Lynn will be lovingly remembered by two children Lynn (Shannon) Carpenter II and Dody (Jeremy) Smeenge; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne Carpenter, Rick Carpenter, and Kim Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Carpenter; mother, Inez Carpenter; and brother, Joe Carpenter.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may visit Lynn’s family from 12-5 p.m. Saturday, February 19, at Windsor Woods Community Center, 1135 W. Superior St., Wayland MI. 49348 (In front of the mobile home community). A brief service will be held 12 p.m. and celebration of life immediately following with a luncheon.
