Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with Rev. John Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to services.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rehobeth Baptist Church Building Fund, 4444 State Rte 605, Rehobeth, AL 36301.

Mrs. Sanders was born in Barbour County, AL to Simp and Alma Knight Cooper and lived the early years of her life there. She lived most all her life in Houston County and was employed at Warner’s for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.

She is predeceased by her husband, William Alvin Sanders.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Wallace Sanders (Patsy) of Dothan and W. Larry Sanders (Debbie) of Raleigh, NC; 13 grandchildren, Glenn Sanders, Danny Sconyers, Sean Sanders, Brian Sconyers (Allison), Peyton Pennington (Mike), Heather Sanders-Levengood (Jereme), Jeremy Sanders, Christopher Felton, Eli Sanders, Kyle Sanders (Bonita), Justin Huckabee, Missy Wright, and Mitchell Cohen; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, John David Sheppard; two sisters, Mildred Cook and Christine Sketo; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
