
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. on Friday prior to service time. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society.
Norma was born July 7, 1960 in El Paso, Texas and moved to Dothan at an early age where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed for several years as manager of Bruster’s Ice Cream. Norma loved her children and animals, especially cats.
She is predeceased by her father, J. T. Floyd and brothers, Donald Floyd and Woody Floyd.
Survivors include her husband, Bryan Powell of Dothan; sons, Gregory Isley (SSGT, USAF) and wife, Ashlee, of Anchorage, Alaska and Brandon Powell of Dothan; grandchildren, Peyton Isley and Savanna Isley, of Anchorage, Alaska; her mother, Pauline M. Floyd of Dothan; brothers, Gene Floyd (Candace) of Daleville, James Floyd (Jackie) of Cottonwood, Johnny Floyd (Bobby) of Daleville and Larry Floyd of Dothan.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice and the many friends who helped care for Norma during her illness.
