Alfred Lamar Whitehead, 84 years of age, left for his heavenly home, March 28, 2015. Mr. Whitehead served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and earned the ranking of Staff-Sergeant serving primarily in Japan. He retired after 35 years of service at Western Electric Company, now known as Alcatel-Lucent. He has faithfully served his Lord in many capacities as long as his health allowed. He was such as inspiration to all, but especially to his family. Thank you all for your love and support through this time. He was an incredible man that will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Ola; and son, Danny Lamar Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Edna Joann Whitehead; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and John Law; his son, Randy Whitehead of Douglasville; daughter-in-law, Tracy Whitehead Herrington of Powder Springs; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Rosehaven Chapel on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 am.
