Mrs. Betty “Mimi” Loper, age 90, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was born on August 1, 1930 in East Point, Georgia to the late Grady and Mary (Wallace) Danforth. An exceptionally adored woman, she was lovingly called Mimi by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a wonderful woman who was generous and thoughtful. She was the type of person that people aspired to be. With a love of laughter and a great sense of humor, Mimi was constantly joking and cutting up.
A devoted and doting mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, her family was always placed first and cared for wholeheartedly. Mimi was described as a happy person with a thirst for life. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Canada. She especially loved Hawaii and visiting the different Gardens through the country. She also loved to dance and watch the Shirley Temple movies. Mimi was a woman of God, enjoying the sermons and teachings at Midway Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Loper; her infant daughter, Rebecca Anne; and her brother, Roy Danforth.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Theresa (Joseph) Hamilton and June (Mark) Baxter; her grandchildren, Dena (Matthew) Wilson, Grady (Suzanne) Hamilton, Mitchell (Kristy) Hamilton, Russell (Jessica) Hamilton, and Alex (Wesley) Farmer; her great-grandchildren, Brooke (Jadey) Barnett, Haley (Drew) Herren, Andruw (Haley) Hamilton, Abbi Hamilton, Braelyn Farmer, Campbell Wilson, Carmen Hamilton, Carter Hamilton, Ella Kate Farmer, Anna Claire Farmer, Gadison Hamilton, Bryson Hamilton, Toccoa Hamilton, and Lucy Jane Farmer; her great-great-grandchildren, Lila Grace Herren and Remi Leigh Hamilton; and numerous other loved ones, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Rosehaven Chapel at 12:00 PM with Pastor Barry Thompson officiating. Following the service, Mimi will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road Atlanta, GA 30349.
