OBITUARY

Charles Ancil Bridwell Jr

28 November, 19569 October, 2020

Mr. Charles Ancil Bridwell, Jr., age 63, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Friday, October 9, 2020. He was born November 28, 1956 in Chamblee, Georgia.

A “Gentle Giant”, Chuck touched many lives. He was a brilliant man who knew something about everything and loved to watch Jeopardy. He could make people smile by just walking into a room. He was a jack of all trades and had several businesses which he owned throughout his life. Chuck knew any and everything about history and science. He was an electrician who provided home entertainment and security systems for his clients. He enjoyed tinkering with computers. In his spare time, he enjoyed scuba diving. Santa Chuck will always be remembered at the South Florida Mall where he worked for 14 years. He loved children and brought much happiness to many families who came to see him. True to the Santa character, everything he wore was red. His vehicle was a Blazer painted like a sleigh and he always carried peppermint sticks in his pockets for the children throughout the year.

Chuck was an amazing father who loved his children. He loved unconditionally and gave with his entire heart. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of Christ Central Church in Dallas, Georgia. He was a Godly man who lived his life pleasing to the Lord. His family and friends will miss him dearly, but they will celebrate his life and rejoice that he is finally in his eternal home with Jesus.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Melba Smith Daniel; and his brother, Chris Daniel.

Mr. Bridwell is survived by his father, William Daniel; one son, Cameron Jason Bridwell; two daughters, Rebecca (Bridwell) Smith and Kathryn “Kat” Taylor Ross; brother, Chad Daniel; former spouse, Lynda Culbreath Bridwell; nephews, Will Daniel and Tyler Daniel; and an aunt, Linda (Donny) Glisson.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Christ Central, 620 Paulding Plaza, Dallas, Georgia.

Santa Chuck’s magic will live forever in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to have known him. He touched the lives of thousands. Not many people can leave a legacy like that! I can’t even put into words how much he meant to not only me and my family, but to so many. My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and his children and family and friends in this most difficult time. Santa Chuck was such an important part of our lives and Christmas cheer. He brought magic to my little girls hearts. I will never forget the sparkle in their eyes and the look on their faces each time they saw him. He got to watch them grow up and became part of our holiday family tradition. He always had something new and special up his sleeve. One year he gifted my girls a personalized “A Night Before Christmas” book with a photo of himself and our family engraved in the book. He told the girls that he wanted them to read it around Christmas time each year. I will make sure they do. Every year my family holds an annual Christmas party for all of our family and closest friends and the highlight of the night is Santa’s surprise visit. The same 15-20 children attend every year and he was able to see the children grow over the years. He brought magic, pure magic, to each of their hearts. One of the best things I have witnessed in my life is the joy that he brought to all these children’s lives each year. I will never forget these priceless moments and sweet memories. His jolly face, contagious chuckle and cheery spirit instantly brightened the room. He had a special way with each child and made their spirits bright. I will keep his magic alive forever, as I know that is what he would want us all to do. Santa we miss you and love you and will never ever forget you!!! Thank you for your MAGIC and everything special that you bestowed upon your family and countless children and families and friends lives. God bless you and your loved ones.

I had the great pleasure of working with Santa Chuck for 2 years at the Wellington Green mall. We became friends instantly. He was so much fun to talk to. We would talk about everything and anything. The best advice I got was to pray a little and believe wholeheartedly. I am proud to say I was friends with Santa. We kept in touch through Facebook and I looked forward to visiting him on set every year. I’ll never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends. ❤️

My 4 year old daughter and I were shopping at our local Walmart right before Christmas last year and as soon as my daughter laid eyes on Santa Chuck, she was ENAMORED. She couldn’t believe that she was seeing Santa Claus in the flesh! He didn’t have a costume on, but everyone just “knew” he was Santa. He pulled out his North Pole identification card and showed it to Brianna. She was elated! I will never forget the gleam in her eyes and his warmth. He was truly a magnificent man with a heart of gold. ❤️ We are thinking of your family during this time. He will be greatly missed.

Hello,
We are the Bradshaw family. Chuck was a part of our Christmas every year for the last ten years. With the exception of a couple missed years. We are devastated to hear of his passing. For us, Chuck was the real deal. He made the holidays magic for us we looked forward to seeing him and would often stop and just visit with them while he was working and it wasnt busy. My kids adored him. We so grateful for the opportunity to know him and stand with you in this time of mourning. We ask God give you peace in this difficult time. You are in our prayers.

Santa Chuck and I worked together for 7 years at Wellington Green Mall in FL. along with my wife, Mrs. Claus( Barbara). Chuck had a great sense of humor and a jolly good laugh. We exchanged Christmas presents and I could never imagine what would be coming next; whatever it was, we got a good laugh from it. Chuck was a true to heart Santa; kids came first. He was a “Gentle Giant” and always took the time and effort to make every child feel special. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all.
