

Charles Henry Cantrell, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 after 18 months in hospice. He was born March 30, 1940 in Waleska, Georgia. Charles worked for Amarlite, a division of Anaconda Aluminum in Atlanta, Georgia for over 20 years and never took a vacation. He then worked for Donald Price’s Mattress Company in Douglasville, Georgia. Charles built his own house and helped other people with odd jobs. He never married and was a devoted son, who spent his life taking care of his Mother. Charles stayed home and enjoyed watching westerns and old movies on T.V. He also lived to hunt and fish. He owned his own lake, which he kept stocked with fish.
Preceding him in death were parents, David and Isabel (Jones) Cantrell; and five siblings, Lee Oma Tiller, Mary Elsie Parramore, Andrew Richard Cantrell, Frances Wilmer Sims and David Clifton Cantrell.
Those left to cherish his memory are sister, Lola Mae Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Entombment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park Mausoleum.
