Mr. Kelly Dwaine Flanagan, age 48, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 8th, 2020. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 9th, 1971 and his family moved to Douglasville as he was nearing his first birthday. Kelly had a heart of gold through and through – he was kind, enthusiastic, had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed making people happy. He attended Bill Arp Elementary, Chapel Hill Middle School, Lithia Springs and Alexander High-Schools. In school he loved being active in wrestling and playing soccer. After graduating he later attended University of West Georgia, Dekalb Community College, and then graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Kelly loved his life, his family, and his friends. He would often meet with his friends to enjoy recreational activities together. His absolute favorite job was being a bar tender. He loved the atmosphere, the people he met, and the stories he heard. Kelly also loved cars and his dogs. One of Kelly’s most proud achievements was being able to attend a mission trip to Haiti and work with the orphans there. The past couple of years proved difficult for him, as he was in ill health, but he is now in God’s arms and his suffering is over.
“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.” - 2nd Timothy 4:7
Preceding him in death were his father, Walter Wade “Bud” Flanagan, Jr. and his brother, Walter Wade Flanagan, III.
Survivors include his loving mother, Dianne Flanagan; his brother, Patrick Flanagan; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous other loved ones and friends.
In accordance with Kelly’s wishes, he will be cremated and there are to be no scheduled services.
