Linda Dianne Stowers, age 77, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. She was born July 24, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. Dianne’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family, her children, and especially her grandchildren. She devoted her life to her family and was “Mom” to everyone. Dianne was known for her sweet, kind disposition and her selflessness. She had a way of making friends and family feel special and loved. Everyone loved her and she could win over almost anyone with her great sense of humor. Dianne was exemplary of the Proverbs 31 woman with her love for her family and her love for her Lord. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Mableton, worked in ministry for many years, she taught Sunday School and worked as a Nanny once her children were grown. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing and painting. She was an avid reader with a special interest in the history of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Egypt. Dianne was known for her excellent spelling skills, even after developing Alzheimer’s.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Dorus Raymond and Mary Frances (Moore) Hamil; sister, Mary Lee Morton and grandson, Mason Eric Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Natalie Weathington (Kenny), Mark Stowers (Tricia), and Mary Smith (Rick); nine grandchildren, Dr. Jill Weathington (Ike Floyd), Jonathan Mayfield (Jessica), Jake Weathington (Kaity), Julia Harrell (Dawson), Chris Weathington, Jarett Stowers, Summer Weathington, Samuel Smith and Malia Smith; six great-grandchildren, Leo, Logan, Willow, Isaac, Jupiter and J.J.; as well as many other family members and friends that meant a lot to her.
